Through my research, I learned a lot about the varying political opinions and activism in punk rock. The multiple political movements within punk rock including Anarchism, Feminism, Nazism, and Straight Edge have had a significant impact on the punk scene and punk music. And, punk music has motivated and inspired multiple generations of youth activists. I will continue to listen to punk music, attend punk shows, and be part of punk culture. I’m sure in the future, as I read and talk to people in the punk scene, I will learn more about each of these movements and probably discover and be a part of many of the left-leaning political movements associated with punk rock. As my political understandings grow, I will become a more and more accepted participant in the many aspects of the political spectrum within the punk discourse community.
